SPEN folk have been asked to set their stalls out when the Christmas lights are switched on in Cleckheaton.
Spenborough Chamber of Trade is planning on having 22 stalls set up for the big switch-on next month and wants to open them up to individuals, as well as local traders.
President Viv Laycock said she wanted to foster a true community feeling during the day and hoped that non-members and non-traders would take up her offer.
“If you want to have a stall to sell something, they will be open from 1pm until 7pm,” she said.
“As a chamber, we want the lights switch on to be an extravaganza event for the community and bring everyone together.”
Mrs Laycock said she was also looking for talented young entertainers, including bands, to get the crowd going during the afternoon, on Savoy Square.
She added: “We’re also looking for buskers to come down to entertain people.
“We’re hoping that it’s going to be a really good day for all the family.”
