FLOOD alerts are in place for areas of Cleckheaton and Liversedge as the miserable summer weather takes a turn for the worse.
The Environment Agency is expecting rainfall of 40-60mm in the area today, and has issued flood alerts for River Spen, Blacup Beck, Lands Beck and Canker Dyke in Cleckheaton and Liversedge.
It is expected that the majority of the rain will fall before 6pm. Some parts of Spen have already had problems with surface water, including Oxford Road in Gomersal, and parts of Norristhorpe are believed to have spent parts of the day without power.
Due to a flood at Cooper Bridge in Mirfield, the 253 service which runs through Cleckheaton has delays of up to 30 minutes.
