A TALENTED young artist has won a national competition with a drawing of her mum.

Evie Thomas, seven, won the under eights category of the Tiny Artist of the Year competition by photo printing website mymemory.com – and netted her family vouchers worth £200 to spend on the site.

Her little sister Ava, five, was named runner up in the ages fives and under category with her drawing of animals.

Their mum Lya said: “I saw the competition on Facebook and I entered both my daughters’ drawings. A few months later I found out we had won.

“They could draw anything and Evie decided to draw a picture of me. The picture was printed in a national newspaper saying it was Mona Lisa-esque.”

And earlier this year Evie won an American style fridge freezer in another drawing competition.
