MP Mike Wood was one of the keen cyclists who raised nearly £2,000 at a charity event in a Cleckheaton supermarket.
The Cycle to Lapland event raised £1,830 for Cancer Research UK, when staff and guests cycle the equivalent of 2,200 miles – the distance between Spen and Santa Claus’ historic home!
The cycle took place over three days, and had a total of 44 people, which also included members of the public, all the store’s staff and even local policemen take part to help make up the mammoth distance.
Jonathan Morgan, who organised the event at Tesco in Northgate, said: “We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the great generosity of our customers and colleagues who have supported us so kindly.
“It was a great event and we are really pleased to have raised this amount for Cancer Research UK.”
