YOUNG dancers took a step in the right direction when they took their first examinations.
The pupils of the Lauren J Dance Academy in Roberttown spent three months preparing and practising for their IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) exam and all passed with flying colours.
Principal Lauren Joyner said: “Our youngest candidate was just three years old, who took and passed all three exams!
“We can also boast a brilliant 16 exams passed at 85 per cent or above which is an Honours.
“And as well as dancing exams we also have eight children who have successfully passed their British Gymnastics Awards 8, 7 or 6.
“I am extremely proud of all the girls who showed extreme dedication and we are celebrating with a presentation evening in March, which is also doubling up as a fundraiser event for our forthcoming show at Cleckheaton town hall in April.”
The group meets at Roberttown community centre.
