Train delays after lorry strikes bridge

A lorry has become wedged under a bridge in Mirfield this afternoon (Friday), causing disruption to train services.

The vehicle struck the bridge in Station Road at around 3pm.

National Rail said First TransPennine Express services between Leeds and Huddersfield, Grand Central services between Bradford Interchange and Doncaster and Northern Rail services between Leeds and Huddersfield were affected.

Network Rail said examiners were on site assessing the bridge.
