Workers at a card manufacturer in Dewsbury were evacuated this morning after a fire broke out in a forklift truck.

Two fire engines from Dewsbury were called to UK Greetings, Mill Street East, at around 9.40am, where a forklift truck was ablaze in a warehouse.

Staff had tried to extinguish the fire using a dry powder fire extinguisher, but called the fire service for help.

Firefighters put out the fire with an extinguisher and cleared smoke from the building with positive pressure ventilation fans.

The fire did not spread to any other part of the building and crews left at around 11.10am.

Workers were allowed back into the building once the fire service deemed it safe.
