COUNCIL chiefs will meet later today (Tuesday) to vote on plans to introduce charges to Gomersal’s historic Red House Museum.
The council want to introduce the charges for trial period, just weeks after Kirklees Council officers proposed to close the building completely.
Those plans were blocked by a hard-fought campaign by local people, who responded with an outpouring of opposition.
The proposed new charges would see an adult ticket priced at £3.50 with children paying £1.50 for admission from April 1.
A family pass would cost £8.50, with further charges under the council’s season ticket scheme.
* Members of the Kirklees Council cabinet will vote on the proposals at a meeting at Huddersfield Town Hall from 4pm.
