It’s clear from these pictures that these tots just love splashing around!
Batley Baths and Recreation Centre has seen water babies flooding into the pool for its free Little Splashers sessions.
On Monday the centre celebrated the success of the swimming scheme with a fun swim session and tea party with buns and cakes.
The free sessions were funded by a grant from Sportivate, a £32 million lottery programme that pays for courses to help more people get involved in sport.
Operations manager Lyndsey Kaye said the sessions had brought more than 40 new users to the centre, with parents bringing their young ones to join the fun.
She said: “The sessions have been such a success that we are keeping the Thursday Little Splashers on the timetable free of charge to all customers with babies under the age of five years old.
“This session will continue with Amy Gardner, our aquatics activator, who will be on the side of the pool for any tips or advice when it comes to being in the water with your baby.”
Following the success of Little Splashers, the Cambridge Street pool will introduce Duckling swimming lessons on Monday for children aged five and under.
The centre is working with SureStart to offer free lessons for youngsters on Monday mornings from 9.45am to 10.15am and 10.15am. to 10.45am.
