THE Rev Rowan Williams is to visit Cleckheaton!

No – the Archbishop of Canterbury will not be preaching in Cleckheaton this Sunday – but his namesake, who is now the Anglican chaplain at York University, will be.

She lived in Cleckheaton on Mount Street as a child in the 1970s, while her dad taught at Whitcliffe Mount School, and she attended Whitcliffe Road Infant and Junior School.

The current vicar the Rev Brunel James said: “She would be delighted to meet any old class mates and church friends who are able to attend St John’s this Sunday, where she will preach at the 11am service.”
