A 35-year-old woman was hit by a car in Batley on Tuesday evening.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision in Purlwell Lane at about 10.06pm.
A Seat Leon collided with the woman after swerving to avoid a braking Toyota, it is believed.
The woman was in the road at the time.
She was taken to Pinderfields hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
PC Cameron Buchan said: “We are conducting enquiries into this incident and would like to speak with anyone who saw the collision, of the pedestrian or Seat Leon before the incident took place.
“Anyone who had information is asked to contact the Western Area Roads Crime Team on 101.”
