Worker threatened in attempted robbery at petrol station

A robber demanded money from the till at a Ravensthorpe petrol station, threatening the shop worker.

The incident happened in the early hours of yesterday morning (Wednesday) when a man went into Ravensthorpe Petrol Station on Huddersfield Road and approached the counter.

He threatened the employee behind the counter, asking for cash from the till, but was disturbed by another customer and ran out of the shop.

The suspect is described as an Asian male, between 27 and 30-years-old, 6ft and medium build.

Detective Constable Richard Brooke, of Kirklees CID, said: “We are appealing to members of the public for them to come forward if they saw this man in the area that morning.
