As every proud Tyke knows, next Monday, August 1, is the day when God's Own County can rightfully bask in the glory of being the best place in Britain.

And that's because it is Yorkshire Day and today we are continuing our countdown about the place we call home with a light-hearted look the word's and phrases you'd only ever hear uttered in Yorkshire.

Over the coming days, we'll be looking further at the people, the places and the history ahead of next Monday's big celebration.
