ARTISTIC children were presented with chocolate, medals and certificates for their top efforts in a colouring competition.

Children coloured in Easter scenes or drew their own pictures for the competition, organised by Heckmondwike’s councillors.

The 15 children who won the competition were presented with Easter eggs, certificates and medals by Kirklees Mayor Coun Eric Firth.

Coun Viv Kendrick (Lab, Heckmondwike) said: “Pictures coloured by the entrants were on display in the market. The Mayor enjoyed viewing them and presenting prizes before touring the market, speaking to each of the stall holders and discussing ways forward in promoting and developing the market.”
