The Guardian has run several stories recently about the traveller communities and the disruption caused by their impromptu visits to various playing fields in the region.
I do believe that drastic action needs to be taken to avoid any reoccurrence of any unrest and debris to our local fields and parks.
The amount of time taken to remove the travellers needs to be addressed as they know from experience how long they can stay at a site before been removed.
The local councils and committee members have now started to realise the enormity of the task, now that it as started to affect their budget.
I do hope that the importance of this matter is not lost and becomes yesterday’s news until the problems start again.
If new gates and security posts are part of the process which will eradicating the nuisance of travellers in the region, then they should ensure that these preventive measures are completed.
