Have a crafty Christmas at Red House

Have your say

Following on from the success of our Valentine’s Craft Event at Red House Museum this year, I have been asked as the President of the Friends of Red House Museum to do a similar event but with a Christmas theme.

My own children have helped me develop the crafts and as they are six and twelve years old it will again be an event which would be suitable for all infant and primary age children – although I am equally sure the pre-school children would love them too.

We are putting out flyers in some local schools but would love as many people from Spen Valley and surrounding areas to come along.

Of course we hope to again raise some money for The Friends of Red House but these craft workshops are also a wonderful way to bring families to the museum and a great way for children from different schools to meet each other in a fun and festive setting.

The event will be at Red House on Sunday December 8 from noon-3pm when visitors can make a variety of festive craft items. We will be making Christmas cards, clay Christmas tree decorations, giant paper snowflakes, Santa/snowman models, tissue paper pompom and decorative paper wreaths.

It is a drop-in workshop and people should allow at least an hour if they would like to make all the craft items. The cost is £3 per child, or £5 for two children which includes all the craft materials.
