I am trying to find out about Pat Meehan who was a very generous benefactor of the Holy Spirit Church in Heckmondwike.
He donated the high altar in 1933 and returned from America where he had emigrated some years prieviously to see it consecrated by the bishop.
I understand he lived for a time in Daw Green, Dewsbury, and some readers may still remember his family.
He also composed a hymn for Father O’Connor - who was immortalised as Father Brown in G K Chesterton’s Father Brown’s detective stories – in 1918.
I would like to include Pat Meehanin our centenary book which will be published next year.
