ONCE again the residents of Roberttown enjoyed a superb display of Christmas lights plus a well attended, enjoyable Victorian evening.
Each year, an enormous amount of work goes on behind the scenes, and a huge debt of gratitude is owed to Colin Smith and his wife Edna.
Colin, a retired electrician, has masterminded the display for several years and spends hours checking all the lights and connections.
He leads a team of volunteers who give their time to put up the lights and take them down in January.
Colin and Edna also arrange for collection boxes in local shops to raise funds to help finance the improvement of the lights. Colin, who is the chairman of the Roberttown Residents’ Association is always actively involved throughout the year campaigning for improvements within the area.
