IN-FORM Cleckheaton are eying a fifth straight win in all competitions tomorrow as they travel to Northern brimming with confidence (kick-off 2.15pm).

Four wins on the spin in North East One has propelled the Moorenders into fifth place, just three points behind local rivals Morley, and there are few teams who would fancy taking on Dave Harrison’s men at the moment, let alone a Northern side who have lost their last three games and are in danger of being dragged into the relegation zone.

Cleckheaton will hand a first start to Ollie Marns tomorrow after he came off the bench and impressed in last week’s impressive 45-15 win over Darlington.

Ross Hayden has progressed from Cleckheaton’s junior sides to become a first-team regular and he is sure to benefit from having the experience of centre Marns alongside him.

Richard Piper continued his sensational form for a back row forward when he scored his 10th league try of the season against Darlington to move second in the division’s try scoring charts.

Only leading duo Beverley and Wheatley Hills have a better recent record than the Moorenders, who will be aiming to stretch their run of form.

Cleckheaton officials received a letter from Harrogate’s president this week thanking the club for their hospitality in the recent Yorkshire Cup game between the sides.

Cleckheaton overcame an understrength Harrogate side 54-7 in the Yorkshire Cup and that could potentially set up a home quarter-final against Morley, who take on Middlesbrough in the first round next Saturday.

Cleck are running a coach to tomorrow’s game, which departs Moorend at 10.30am and costs just £5 per person and supporters will hope they are celebrating another success on the return journey from Newcastle.
