There should be a crackling Cleckheaton atmosphere tomorrow as the Moorenders go in search of a sixth straight win against Middlesbrough.

Cleckheaton have gained permission to put the kick off back to 2.30pm to enable the club to stage one of their ever popular pre-match lunches, which will be attended by around 150 guests.

The pre Christmas soiree is one of Cleckheaton’s rugby highlights and with entertainment provided by top local comedian Pete Emmett, supporters are sure to find their voices by the time they venture picthside.

With much of the match set to be played under floodlights this will surely add to the atmosphere and with Cleckheaton riding high at the top of North One East, spectators will hope there is plenty to cheer.

Cleckheaton have won all five games at Moorend this time, are currently 13 points clear at the top of the table and host a Boro side who have yet to win on the road, having lost five from five.

Captain Richard Piper will be determined his side stretch that winning home run to six on the bounce as the season reaches halfway tomorrow.

Cleckheaton earned another bonus point win on the road last week when they returned from Morpeth 29-12 victors to extend their lead over second placed Pocklington.

Matt Piper was star of the show in the north east as he grabbed a hat-trick in a first half blitz by the visitors.

Cleckheaton are guaranteed to go into 2014 as league leaders but they will be determined to maintain their healthy advantage over the chasing pack.

Cleck travel to Rochdale next Saturday in their final league game of the year and are well aware that seven of their remaining 12 matches after that are all at fortress Moorend.
