Cottier delight at marathon victory

ANDREW Cottier won the Wharfedale Off Road Marathon for third time in the last four years, completing the course in a personal best time of three hours, three minutes, 43 seconds.

Russell Thomas was 42nd in 4hrs 4mins 21secs and David Smith in 4.04.24 of the 86 finishers.

n In the Ilkley Trail Race Kevin Oates was 24th of the 272 finishers in 47mins 15secs. James Morris was 32nd in 47.53 and Colin Watson 155th in 61.07.

n At the Buxton Half Marathon Andrew Meskimmon was 21st of the 368 finishers in a time of 1hr 27mins 53secs and Tom Millward 229th in 1.57.06.

n At the Grand Yorkshire 10K in Bridlington, Colin Watson was 76th of the 250 finishers and second over 65 in a time of 46.41, while the following day, Colin finished 12th of the 35 finishers in the beat the Clock four mile Beach Race in a time of 32.44.
