County players deliver top tips

YORKSHIRE players, fresh from clinching promotion to the County Championship Division One, will pass on tips to youngsters at two cricket coaching courses over the coming weeks.

Pro Coach Cricket, founded by Cleckheaton’s Tykes captain Andrew Gale six years ago, has helped thousands of youngsters develop their skills and they will run the 10-week courses at Woodlands CC and Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield.

Pro Coach Yorkshire Winter Development Academies are aimed at school, club and district cricketers looking to progress over the winter.

Current and ex-Yorkshire players will be running the courses alongside Level 2, 3 and 4 coaches, working on batting, bowling and fielding.

The course at Woodlands Indoor Centre runs on Mondays between October 8 until December 10. Under-12 courses take place between 6pm to 7.30pm, with Under-16s 7.30pm to 9pm. The QEGS courses run from Wednesday, October 10 to December 13. Under-12s 6pm to 7.30pm, Under-16s 7.30pm to 9pm.

The cost is usually £139 for the 10 week course but mention this article in the Reporter Series or Wakefield Express to receive a 10 per cent discount.
