THe Central Yorkshire Cricket League have called off their fixtures for a second week running,
Officials said that after much discussion and debate they have decided to postpone the forthcoming weekends fixtures. All games scheduled for Saturday the 28th April will now take place on Saturday September 22, with a noon start.
Mark Heald, Central Yorkshire Cricket League Chairman explained: “We believe that this is the correct decision under the circumstances for the League as a whole. We make the decision having consulted a number of clubs and feel that even if the weather should improve as it did last weekend it is extremely unlikely that grounds will be fit enough to provide a competitive game of cricket.
“We hope you will support our decision which has been taken with the best interests of cricket in mind. It should however be noted that even if we are subjected to further bad weather we are unable to rearrange any further league fixtures.”
