The trophy is aimed at teams in the lower divisions of the league, giving them chance to win some silverware, and Clough reached the semi-finals with an 8-0 win over Honley and a 5-1 success away to Kirkburton.

Clough play in Division K and are a league below Lepton and it was the home side who got off to the better start, opening the scoring within the first five minutes.

Clough fought back and spent the next 40 minutes attempting to equalise and they created a number of chances

With 12 minutes remaining Sam Kitchen capped a MoM performance for Clough when he bundled the ball over the line after a goal mouth scramble to make it 1-1.

With four minutes of normal time left, Kitchen produced a great run down the right, beating several players before cutting inside to cross the ball for James Marlow to smash home from two yards out to give Clough the lead.

Lepton launched final attack and fired a shot from 20 yards out which goalkeeper Harry Wainwright did well to push wide and secure his side’s win.
