Heckmondwike Cycle Speedway’s 17-year-old sensation Pawel Idziorek represented Poland in a series of test matches against Great Britain last weekend.

Idziorek, who took up the sport only two years ago, proved to be a shrewd choice for the Polish team as he claimed 18 and 11 points to help his country to victories in both of their matches.

The teenager has also signed up for Sheffield to ride in elite races after a brilliant run of results in which he has won the northern individual junior and senior titles.

Idziorek is now seeking sponsorship ahead of a major international competition in Australia next November.

Heckmondwike’s next outing is on Sunday, August 4, when they travel to Stockport for the next Northern League match.
