Cleck Kestrels 43
West Leeds 10
SEVEN tries from seven different players, four from the forwards and three from the backs, summarises an excellent team effort against West Leeds.
With four of the side that lost to Wath unavailable, the Kestrels called on Lyndon Ashley, Matt Wood and Andy Corfield. All acquitted themselves well.
Gareth Lamb made an early break and looked likely to score, only to be pushed into touch five metres short.
James Wilson, in only his second game back from a badly broken leg, took the final pass and sprinted in at the corner only for Leeds to reply with a penalty.
The Kestrels went close on a number of occasions, before Ricky Motlib powered over.
Cleckheaton applied themselves with renewed vigour in the second half and scored five tries with just one in response from the opposition.
Aiden Bullen, who had made several excellent breaks, scored following a charging run by Nick Holland.
Jarrad Toulson cut through to score and add the extras to make it 22-3.
The forwards dominated and back row, Danny Graham scored after a short pass from scrum half Fletcher. Toulson again landed the goal.
Leeds hit back with a converted try but Sam Sessions jinked past two defenders for his first senior try.
Nathan Clayton received a tap penalty and ghosted through for the Kestrels seventh try. Toulson added both goals to seal the win and put Yorkshire Merit League Division Two promotion within their grasp.
