Cleck retain Scott Trophy

CLECKHEATON can go into the new year buoyed by their Boxing Derby derby triumph over a youthful Old Brods at Hipperholme.

The Moorenders used the game as a first-team fixture in preperation for a tough start to 2013 and they retained the Fred Scott Trophy thanks to a 17-7 success.

Matt Piper, man-of-the-match Jack Bickerdike and Ross Hayden were the Cleckheaton try scorers.

Dave Harrison’s men resume their North One East campaign on Saturday, January 5, at home to another of their local rivals Old Crossleyans.
