Cleckheaton start against new opponents

CLECKHEATON RU will kick-off their National Three North season at home against new opponents Rossendale.

The Lancashire side visit Moorend on the first day of the season on Saturday September 5.

They are one of two new opponents from over the Pennines, with Rochdale making their Moorend bow in Cleckheaton’s last home league game of the season on March 27.

Dave Harrison’s side round off at Rossendale on April 10 while Cleckheaton visit Rochdale on December 5.

There are, of course, a tasty games with Morley to look forward to. The home game is on Saturday March 13. The first meeting is at Scatcherd Lane on November 14.

The decision by Halifax to pull out of the national leagues is set to mean a return to National Three North for Sheffield Tigers.

Halifax will start life in September in Yorkshire Six.
