Hartshead clinch title

Hartshead Moor clinched the Bradford League Seconds Division Two title after they won by seven wickets at Bankfoot and Gomersal lost by 10 runs at Keighley.

Bankfoot offered little resistance as they were dismissed for just 58 in 33.3 overs.

No batsman reached double figures as the Hartshead attack ripped through the order.

Martin Riley claimed 3-24 in 15 overs with seven maidens and James Hardcastle 3-16 in 15 with eight maidens. Jack Baldwin (2-3) and Louis brooke (1-6) also struck.

Hartshead eased to victory by reaching 62-3 in 14 overs. Nick Ward (23) and Trent Otto (14) gave them a good start before Rob Ellis (10no) and Brooke (5no) saw them home.

Gomersal slipped to third place after their defeat and Windhill's 187-run success at Manningham Mills, which leaves Windhill trailing Hartshead by 26 points with one game left each.

Richard Robinson played a vital role for Keighley in their success over Gomersal.

Ryan Kitson (5-41) and David Hilton (2-42) had the hosts rocking at 9-3 and 41-5 before Robinson and Ben Whitfield (27) shared a crucial stand of 98.

Robinson blasted 96 from just 78 balls with 11 fours and four sixes as Keighley reached 178 all out in 44 overs. Matthew Hirst ended with 2-42.

Opener James Tolson led the Gomersal reply with 42 but a steady fall of wickets scuppered their hopes.

Hilton fired a determined 42 not out late on but even with the extra six overs Gomersal could only reach 168-8.

Another tight game saw Idle produced a surprise 11-run victory to end fourth-placed Spen Victoria's promotion hopes.

Matt Brooker was a key figure for the hosts with a fine 93 as Idle closed on

197-3. Chris Allen (1-17 in 12 overs with six maidens), Jon Ireland (1-30) and Oliver Davidson (1-18) struck.

Derek Warriner made 25 at the top of the Spen reply in a steady start before four wickets fell for one run to leave them 83-6.

Tom Loker launched a fightback with a determined 32 but when he fell Spen were 145-9.

Fehsal Rajput and Sam Sharp (4no) then added 41 to revive hopes but Rajput was run out for 35 on the third ball of the last over to see Spen 186 all out and leave them 16 points behind Gomersal in the table.
