Kirklees close Council managed sports pitches - Weather latest for weekend matches

KIRKLEES have closed all Council managed football and rugby pitches this weekend.

Safety inspections will be made of the ground conditions by grounds maintenance staff and there will be an extra effort to prepare the pitches for fixtures the following weekend.

Cleckheaton RUFC are due to entertain Pocklington in North One East on Saturday but if that game is postponed the league have already confirmed it will be moved to Saturday February 2.

Batley Bulldogs switched Sunday’s pre-season friendly against Halifax from The Shay to Mount Pleasant and if that game falls victim to the weather, the sides will try again on Tuesday evening.
