Maude treble in Hartshead Blackburn Cup triumph

ASHLEY Maude fired a hat-trick as Hartshead won 8-0 against Norristhorpe in the first round of the Heavy Woollen District FA Under-16 Blackburn Cup last Sunday.

James Jowett, Liam Gough, Thomas Butterfield, Aiden Thom and Adam Hird also struck for the visitors.

Dewsbury Rangers eased to a 12-4 home win over Drighlington while Ossett Town Reds edged home 4-3 at Ossett Town Blues.

Luke Barker hit four goals as Gomersal & Cleckheaton reached the quarter-finals with an 8-3 victory over Gildersome Spurs.

Jack Cookson scored a hat-trick while Jack Redmond was also on target for the hosts.

Hat-tricks from Ryan Mahoney and Thomas Pointer helped Wyke Wanderers to a 9-0 victory at Howden Clough B in the first round of the inaugural HW District Under-14 Secker Cup.

Joe Pickles (two) and Lewis Witter completed the tally for the visitors.

Marcus Nelson Auty, Logan Hall and Thomas Boocock struck in Heckmondwike Town's 3-1 home win over Scholes (Jonathan Smith).

Woodkirk Valley romped into the last 16 with a 13-2 victory at Churwell Lions thanks to Daniel Holderness (six), Tom Hartley (five) and Jack Holden (two).

Ossett Town A and Howden Clough A had walkovers after Dewsbury Rangers and Norristhorpe respectively withdrew.
