Northern Rail Cup latest

BATLEY Bulldogs have an excellent chance of qualifying for the knock-out stages of the Northern Rail Cup following last Sunday’s 50-16 victory over London Skolars.

The Bulldogs lie third in Pool A, level on six points with Featherstone Rovers and Halifax, who meet at The Shay this Sunday.

Batley know that victory over Toulouse on Saturday should be enough to book their place in the knock-out stages.

Dewsbury Rams’ hopes are hanging by a thread after a 38-6 defeat at Featherstone last Sunday leaves them bottom of the group.

They will look to register a first win in the competition when they travel to Oldham on Sunday.

In Pool B, Hunslet Hawks lead the way with two wins from two.

Following their midweek success over Whitehaven, the Hawks won 24-18 at Swinton Lions last Sunday and know that victory over Leigh this Sunday should be enough to book their place in the quarter-finals.
