Moorenders aim to bounce back from loss

CLECKHEATON will be aiming to bounce back from an opening day defeat away to Wheatley Hills when they welcome Sheffield to Moorend in North One East tomorrow (kick off 3pm).

Cleckheaton started well away to Hills last week and took a deserved lead through a Steve Worsley try, after new signing Jack Bickerdike had gone close to scoring on his debut.

Wheatley responded with a penalty before half-time and, with Cleck down to 14-men following a sin-binning, the home side scored soon after the re-start to lead 8-5.

Hills added a second converted try and a penalty and although the Moorenders tried hard they were unable to prevent an opening day defeat.

Sheffield began with a narrow loss to Morley last week and as Cleckheaton had a terrific home record last season and they will be aiming to register a first win.
