Cleckheaton and Hartshead Moor, along with Pudsey Congs, have joined the country’s oldest cricket competition this season and embark on their Heavy Woollen Cup ventures this Sunday.

Cleckheaton will fancy their chances of making progress when they welcome Streethouse to Moorend in the first round.

Hartshead Moor mark their return to the competition, following a good number of years absent, with a trip to Barkisland.

The third new side involved this season, Pudsey Congs, are involved the tie of the round when they entertain Bradford League champions Woodlands.

Cup holders Wrenthorpe begin their defence at home to Clayton West, while there is a ‘traditional’ Heavy Woollen derby when Ossett welcome Hanging Heaton to Queens Terrace.

Spen Victoria travel to last season’s beaten finalists Townville, while there is an all Central Yorkshire League clash between Mirfield Parish Cavaliers and Methley.

Birstall entertain Huddersfield League side Golcar, Gomersal face a tough clash at Skelmanthorpe, while Liversedge host Buttershaw.
