LIVERSEDGE will be aiming to make it a hat-trick of wins in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division tomorrow when they travel to Hall Road Rangers (kick-off 3pm).
Eric Gilchrist has made a brilliant start to his second spell in charge of the club, with Sedge defeating Lincoln Moorlands and Maltby Main in their opening two league matches, although they bowed out of the FA Cup to West Auckland last Saturday.
Sedge found themselves 2-0 down against a side who played at Wembley in May, when they were beaten finalists in the FA Vase. John Campbell opened the scoring inside two minutes and Chris Hubbard then rifled into the roof of the net before Matty Moffatt made it 3-0 at half-time.
Campbell bagged his second at the start of the second half to put the tie out of reach although Liversedge showed great heart to fightback late on.
Half-time substitute Joe Hewitt fired home after Jarrard Peltier’s run and cross before Chris Wood curled home a terrific free-kick from the edge of the area but although Liversedge had another late shot tipped over the crossbar, they ran out of time.
Gibril Bojang had another impressive game having scored in the first two league matches against Lincoln Moorlands and Maltby Main.
Liversedge Reserves begin their Lancashire Reserve League campaign tomorrow when Ossett Albion are the visitors.
