Sedge face Maltby test

LIVERSEDGE travel to Maltby Main tomorrow aiming to end a three-match losing run in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division (kick off 3pm).

Sedge suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat at home to lowly Lincoln Moorlands last Saturday but they remain 14th in the table, a place above Maltby.

There is no immediate need to panic for the Clayborners but they will want to improve on recent displays and put together a winning run in the coming weeks.

You have to go back to December 1 for Liversedge’s last success when Eric Gilchrist’s men defeated Retford United 3-1 with a brace from Curtis McMahon and one by Adam Jarrett.

Liversedge edged a five goal thriller against Maltby when the sides met in August so they will be out to claim a league double against their Rotherham rivals.

For Sedge supporters not travelling to South Yorkshire, the Reserves welcome Farsley Celtic to Clayborn for a tasty Lancashire Reserve League derby tomorrow (3pm).
