Shaw Cross Sharks produced a superb display in Wigan to defeat Ince Rose Bridge 31-16 and claim two crucial points in National Conference Division One.
The Sharks made a flying start when Rourke stole the ball and sent Tom Rogers racing between the posts after just 55 seconds.Flowers converted.
Ince hit back to level but Brandan French burst through to score and Flowers converted to give them a 12-6 lead at half-time.
Further Sharks’ pressure resulted in Rourke finding a huge gap to glide between the posts for an 18-6 lead on the hour,
Matthew Tebb led the side around the pitch with great support from Poching, Rourke and Flowers.
Forwards Piper, Hirst, Hudson and Dooner made strong drives and Tebb extended the lead with a clever drop goal.
Strong running Dickie Piper crashed over as the Sharks led 25-6 but Ince then hit a purple patch with two tries in three minutes to give them hope .
A fantastic try sealed victory when a smart offload from Rourke got Sam Ottewell racing to halfway before releasing Will Gledhill who drew the full-back and Nathan Wright finished the 80 metre move in the corner. Sharks’ MoM Flowers landed the touchline conversion to seal a fine away win.
