Spen’s Ogden prepares to run London Marathon

SPENBOROUGH Athletics Club members joined over 1,000 other runners in the Wakefield Hospice 10K road race last Sunday.

Kevin Ogden made his final preparations for the London Marathon on April 17 with another good run, finishing eighth in a time of 34 minutes 41 seconds.

In 17th place and leading veteran over 45 was Anthony Bradford in 35.25, Gerrard Skippins was 44th in 37.45.

Kevin’s twin brother Ian Ogden continues his progress with a personal best time of 40.39.

Other Spen runners were Simon Hudson, 122nd (41.36), Emma Maguire 254th (45.42), and Lucy Hemmingway 351st (49.08). The race was won by Huddersfield athlete Mark Warmby, who was running for London club Newham and Essex.
