St John Fisher secure Heavy Woollen treble
Fisher edged out Woodman Batley Carr last month to win the Heavy Woollen Challenge Cup final at Ossett Albion and complete the first leg of the treble.
The two sides met again last Sunday in the Heavy Woollen District FA Brook Butler Cup final in front of a healthy crowd at Beck Lane.

Hide AdAnthony Doran put Fisher ahead in the first half and goalkeeper Michael Smith produced a superb save to preserve his side’s advantage going into the break.
Rob Hiscox slotted home a penalty and Rob Bordman added a third to seal victory and add a second trophy to the cabinet.
Fisher had a quick turnaround but secured the Heavy Woollen Sunday League Premier Division title on Tuesday evening when they drew 1-1 with AFC Chickenley.
That result put Fisher four points ahead of nearest rivals Birkenshaw with both sides having one game remaining.

Palestino secured the Spen Valley League Division One title with a 9-1 victory over Cleckheaton Sporting last Saturday.
Martin Knowles, Luke Chippendale, Dave Chadwick, Wayne Sparkes, Kenneth Harland, Abdur Rahim, Theor Burja and Scott Morrison were the Palestino scorers, with Matty Softley replying for Cleckheaton.
Cleckheaton had previously secured a 2-0 midweek win over Savile Town thanks to goals from Nathan Williams and George Garforth.

Hide AdAthletico followed up a 3-2 midweek win over Mount Pleasant with a 7-1 victory against Savile Town last Saturday.
Daniel Benjamin, Shamraz Hussain and Umar Ali struck to secure the points against Mount, who replied through Suffya Hafez and Jawad Khan.
Umar Zubair bagged four goals against Savile Town with Mohammed Shamraez, Umar Farooq and Shakeel Malik also on target. Hunzalah Adam hit Savile Town’s consolation goal.
Athletico meet Palestino in their final match the Saturday and they trail second placed Hightown Jets by five points.

The Spen Valley League are recruiting new clubs for next season, with the ground or headquarters to be within 10 miles of Cleckheaton town hall to be eligible.
