The British Boxing Board of Control have confirmed that Gary Sykes’ double title showdown with Cromer’s Liam Walsh has been rescheduled.

Walsh pulled out of the proposed February 15 fight against the Dewsbury star with a hand injury but the Board this week sanctioned the British and Commonwealth super featherweight showdown to take place at the Copper Box Arena in London on Saturday April 12.

A delighted Sykes said: “I had the wind taken out of my sails when the original fight was called off but this news has given me the spring back in my step and I am ready to ramp things up again.”

Ticket and travel details for the fight will be announced in due course.
