Acorn Theatre Company chose to perform the adult-only play that inspired the much-loved film after the success of its first outing, a stage version of TV comedy Allo Allo.

The play tells the story of two Bradford schoolgirls as they embark on a relationship with an older married man whose children they babysit.

Director Cev Barker said: “It is a completely different show from our last production, but that is Acorn’s aim.

“We want to bring a wide and varied range of entertainment to the Kirklees area.

“Later this year we’ll be producing Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, our first show for the Acorn Youth Theatre Company.”

Rita, Sue and Bob Too is at Batley Town Hall, February 20-22, 7.15pm.
