Artist to the stars on his way

HOLLYWOOD’S artist to the stars is jetting to Yorkshire to show off his collection of paintings of famous people.

LA-based Todd White has painted some of the top A-list celebrities, including Johnny Depp, Catherine Zeta Jones, Sharon Stone, Sylvester Stallone, Hugh Hefner and Macaulay Culkin, to name a few.

Dubbed America’s Coolest Artist, the 42-year-old will bring his latest collection to the Smart Gallery at Redbrick Mill on September 30.

His distinctive artwork has won him an international reputation, and last year he was awarded on of the UK’s most prestigious accolades, The Diana Princess of Wales Gold Medal. Only 11 people to date have been honoured with the award, and Todd is the only American to have it.

His paintings captivate people as they reveal his subjects’ innermost feelings, creating timeless scenes of attraction and intimacy.

Texas-born Todd prefers to study figures, faces and features, and spends his time people-watching, scribbling down sketches whenever he can. His subjects come from everyday life

He said: “Everyone’s hands are full of personality. They reflect the subject’s state of mind almost as much as facial expressions.”
