Hepworth Brass Band hosts By Request concert in Mirfield

One of Yorkshire’s best-loved brass bands will play a concert in Mirfield this month to celebrate all things Yorkshire.

Hepworth Band will play a special “by request” concert at St Paul’s Church on Saturday September 20, with each musical number submitted by a member of the public.

One of the organisers, Beverley Fretwell, said: “We want to remind everyone of why Yorkshire is affectionately known as God’s Own County.

“Rarely do people in Mirfield and the surrounding areas get to hear such a top class championship brass band presenting music right in their midst and to be able to request their own favourite pieces for inclusion in the programme always puts the icing on the cake.”

The concert starts at 7pm. Tickets cost £7, with all proceeds going to the band, and are available in advance from Colin Fretwell on 01924 526711.
