Hopton gets ready for arts festival
The event will celebrate art of all mediums, including photography, pottery, sculpture and luxury textiles.
It takes place in the village between on September 13 and 14, not this weekend as reported in error in this week’s paper.

Hide AdWell-renowned artists from the region will showcase their work, including featured artist Stuart Barraclough, who is known for his sport cars paintings.
Artists Alan Goodall, and Richard Gawthorpe, who have both had their work shown at shows for the British Watercolour Society, will take part.
Ian Carter, who works in all mediums and is famous for his oil paintings of locomotives, will also showcase his work.
Local art groups, including the Kirkwood Hospice support and therapy art group, have been invited to support the festival.

Hide AdCroft House, Upper Hopton Club and St John’s Church will all be hosting displays as part of the event.
It will officially be opened by Barbara Walker, whose family connections with the village date back almost 200 years, and Huddersfield Town chairman Dean Hoyle.
The exhibitions will be open on Saturday September 13 and Sunday September 14, 10am-4pm, and light refreshments available throughout.
