Lynda casts a spell

SHE’S everybody’s favourite TV mum – and now Lynda Bellingham is set to become panto-goers’ favourite fairy godmother as she stars in Cinderella in panto.

Lynda, who for years was the Bisto Gravy mum, takes the role of the Fairy Godmother in the Alhambra’s winter production alongside comedian Billy Pearce as Buttons and Brendan Sheerin from TV’s Coach Trip as Baron Hardup.

Executive producer Michael Harrison said: “We are delighted that we have been able to secure Lynda as the Fairy Godmother in this lavish production of the most popular panto title of them all.

“As well as beautiful sets, stunning and outrageous costumes, Cinderella has that very special moment when Cinderella is transformed from rags-to-riches and magically transported to the ball.”

The show opens at the Bradford theatre tomorrow and runs until February 3. Showings are at various times.
