Stars billed for Sister Act

TWO soap stars have been confirmed to play in the Leeds showing of Sister Act in April.

Coronation Street’s Denise Black is to take on the role as Mother Superior, and Emmerdale’s Michael Stark will play Monsignor O’Hara.

Rising new stage star Cynthia Erivo is to play nun on the run Deloris Van Cartier.

Disco diva Deloris witnesses a murder, and is put into protective custody in the one place cops are sure she won’t be found – a convent.

Disguised as a nun and making an enemy of Mother Superior, Deloris focuses her attention on the church’s off-key choir, helping the nuns find their true voices and breathe new life into the convent’s neighbourhood.

The Sister Act tour is produced by the original Deloris, Whoopi Goldberg.

It is on at Leeds Grand Theatre from April 3 to 14. Tickets are £21-£43.50, available from the Box Office on 0844 848 2700 or online at www.leedsgrandtheatre.com.
