Tiptoeing around marriage faults
Tennessee Williams’ masterpiece Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, an honest depiction of a family tearing at the fabric of its relationships, tells the tale of the Pollitt family as it gathers to celebrate Big Daddy’s birthday and the broken marriage of Maggie and Brick Pollitt.
Brick, played by Parade’s End’s Jamie Parker, is a handsome yet troubled drinking ex-footballer and is coolly indifferent towards his wife, played by Downton Abbey’s Zoe Boyle, who is like a cat on a hot tin roof as she tiptoes over her marriage.
