Dewsbury Hospital shuts its doors to visitors to protect patients

The Mid Yorkshire NHS Hospitals Trust said that the hospital is currently closed to all general visiting.
A spokesperson for the trust said: "As there is currently a high prevalence of diarrhoea, vomiting and flu-like symptoms in the community, Dewsbury and District Hospital is currently closed to all visitors, in order to protect our patients.

Hide Ad"This restriction will remain in place until further notice. Exemptions will be at the discretion of the ward manager.

The trust has said to:
- avoid visiting hospital for 48 hours if you have been in contact with someone suffering from diarrhoea and or vomiting symptoms in the last 48 hours.
- avoid visiting hospital if you have symptoms of flu.
- avoid visiting hospital if you have been in contact with someone with flu symptoms.
