Appeal after man shot with air weapon

Police are appealing for information after a man was shot with an air weapon in Holroyd Park in Ravensthorpe.

The 25-year-old victim was walking alone in the park area when the incident happened at around 6.50pm on Wednesday December 30. He suffered a small puncture wound to the cheek which required hospital treatment.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the park area and saw anyone behaving suspiciously.

Detective Constable Tony Marshall, of Kirklees District CID, said: “This appears to be an isolated incident but is clearly of concern, and we are keen to speak to anyone who can help us identify the individual responsible.

“Anyone who was in the area who saw anything that they think may be connected or anyone who has information about the person responsible is asked to please call Kirklees District CID via 101.”
