Appeal for Easter egg donations

A funeral directors is collecting chocolate eggs for children receiving care in hospital over the Easter weekend.

Staff at Batley Funeral Service, which is part of the Dignity Funerals Group, on Bradford Road, are asking local businesses, community groups and residents to donate Easter eggs to bring a smile to children’s faces as they recover from treatment.

The eggs will be delivered by the service’s staff to youngsters in Dewsbury and District Hospital.

Funeral manager, Suzanne Gardner said: “We hope that the local community will support us and help to make Easter an easier time for children who cannot be at home.

“Last year Dignity staff collected thousands of Easter Eggs for children across the country and we would like to have the opportunity to do the same for the children in this area.”

Staff can arrange to collect any eggs you wish to donate or alternatively people can drop their gifts into the branches from 9am- 5pm from Monday to Friday.
